Shireen Abu
Shireen Abu is current Oracle and is the Matriarch of the Abu Tribe. Shireen uses her powers of divination to see events happening in the future and advises the Elder Council on decisions to make. Shireen often instigates investigations or requests hires from outside to help with events that she predicts. More often than not, the people that go on these missions are also craftily chosen with the help of Shireen.
The position of Oracle is a Chosen position that is bestowed among the Abu clan. As a respected clan with a powerful ability, the King of Lirande chose to ally with Abus and gave them a seat on the council. Shireen is currently training her granddaughter, who has been showing potential of becoming the next Oracle.
Background
Growing up as a principle member of the Abu clan was difficult, but rewarding for Shireen. She was identified at a young age as the future Oracle, in a series of strange circumstances where Shireen had a vision of her own coronation as Oracle. With her fate sealed, Shireen complied with the future that was set before her. Learning to control her powers and learning how to behave in the Royal court consumed her formative years, and when Shireen finally came of age, she agreed to a political marriage in order to strengthen the bond between Lirande and a neighboring clan. Overtime that marriage became one of love, and eventually the two had children of their own.
Following her duty, Shireen came to train her own children for the role of Oracle. Before long, it was apparent that none of her children exhibited the traits of the Oracle, and it ended up being Shireen’s grandchild. Taking in her grandchild, Shireen was taken aback by the change in her future and realized that not everything is predictable. Now Shireen trains her granddaughter, while sitting on the Elder Council.
Personality
Shireen, in her older years, seems to have taken a sort of “laid back” approach to her position. She has spent most of her life maintaining her composure and being a proper matriarch, that now, it seems her shoulders have loosened. Even though her tongue may be loose, her wit is still well about her and her powers are as sharp as ever. Often, despite her nonchalant tone, all tasks and issues get taken care of at a speedy pace.
Shireen is extremely fond of her granddaughter and spends her free time assisting in training and generally providing a maternal figure in her life. Her hobbies include gambling, match making, and reading.
