Grigor Preece
Grigor Preece is the current Minister of Finance and is a veteran in the political circuit. Grigor’s main responsibility is managing all financial concerns. Throughout his career, Grigor has used his skills for attention to detail in tedious financial and accounting matters to identify key points of corruption in the budgetary system. He has ousted many political officials and has earned himself the moniker of The Rat Eater, a dig at his precarious position to get rid of the infestations in the financial system.
Grigor live with his wife and has 3 adult children. Although he spends most of his time working for the city, he often finds time to enjoy eating exotic cheeses and other rare treats.
Background
Grigor grew up in the Royals District. His parents were accountants and taught him the importance of numbers and of money from a young age and Grigor latched on quickly. Following the completion of his education, Grigor found initial success working for local business managing their finances and always seemed to leave a business in better shape than he found them. Grigor quickly became a local fan favorite as business quickly began to line to “have him work his money magic” and “give them a quick fix”. Not swayed by the attention he received, Grigor continued his work effectively and diligently, to the point where he was elected to the position of Minister of Finance.
With his new position, came new possibilities and Grigor quickly found that the power of the purse could push him far. By following the money, the once great fixer soon began to rid the city of all the rotten infestations of financial corruption. They say he even turned in the companies who had helped to get elected in the first place Ruthless and following what many to believe is his own sense of justice, The Rat Eater has a firm place at the table.
Personality
Grigor is an incredibly approachable individual. His demeanor hides no malice which makes him all the more favorable business partner to engage with. Those who don’t know of Grigor Preece may find themselves in a lovely conversation with a nice old man. The more you know of Grigor, the more you find yourself tripping in conversation, that is if you have something to hide.
Outside of his work, Grigor enjoys engaging in conversations about food, cheeses, and investments in businesses that might be lucrative in the future. Grigor, although reluctant to admit, does prefer to take a mentoring role and training the next generation of “Financial Truthsayers” as Grigor would put it.
